The patented (US Patent No. 6,612,996) Gynemed Brush is designed to collect a more abundant and site-specific cellular sample, which translates into an overall improvement in screening.
The Gynemed Brush features a cannula which sheaths the dual-density bristles until they are in place, then when retracted, allows contact with the sampling area and facilitates cellular collection.
The plunging action of the cannula also promotes removal of the cellular material from the device. A better sample has been shown to result in better screening.
